Howard Alexander is a consultant Podiatrist and Sport Scientist in private practice in Johannesburg. He is currently the Senior Clinical partner consulting in various practice areas around Gauteng including a High-Performance practice at the Wanderers Sports Medical Centre.    
 

After graduating from the University of Johannesburg 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in Podiatric Medicine, he completed further post Graduate studies through the University of South Africa obtaining Post Graduate Certification in Health Finance/Economics and emergency medical care. He has completed a Master of Science in Medicine degree at the University of Witwatersrand with a special interest in Sports Medicine.
 

Howard has served as chairperson and national executive member of the Podiatry Association of South Africa from 2002 to 2015 and is a current Executive member of the Pan African diabetic foot study group.  During 2018 Howard was inducted as a Fellow into the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in the United Kingdom.
 

His interests to further higher education and training have led him to take up part time Lecturing posts at the Health Sciences faculty of the University of the Witwatersrand and University of Johannesburg over the last twelve Years. Howard’s topics of research and part time academic vocation, as well as his clinical work focuses on lower limb biomechanical gait analysis,  musculoskeletal diagnostic Ultrasound, High performance athletic assessment and Computer aided Prosthetic design.
